En el caso objeto de estudio se conjugan tanto el Derecho Internacional como el Derecho Penal. A través de la exposición y análisis de un episodio real de la Guerra de los Balcanes, se han presentado las opciones morales y penales a las que se enfrentó el protagonista de la historia, Drazen Erdemovic. En la presentación del caso se ha tenido co mo referencia lo dictaminado por el Tribunal Penal Internacional para la antigua Yugoslavia, con sede en La Haya
